Finding your ring size

Wrap a strip of paper snugly around the finger, mark where it overlaps and measure the length in mm. Match it below. If you are between two sizes, choose the smaller: you can file wax to make a ring bigger, never smaller.

Wide bands wear tighter, so file the inside a little more for a comfortable fit.

Which wax?

Start with the shape closest to the idea.

Less carving, fewer snapped corners. Every shape is the same wax. Only the head start changes.

Rings

A pre-formed band means the fit is sorted before you start. You carve the look, not the hole.

Pendants & charms

Flat discs and slabs take initials, textures and pierced designs beautifully. Leave room for a bail or loop.

Cufflinks & earrings

Cut a bar in two for a matching pair. Keep pieces over 1.5mm thick so they cast cleanly.

Going again

One kit. Endless pieces.

Your tools don’t wear out and your tin keeps coming back. Each time, you only pay for wax and the casting, never for the kit again.

Refill questions, answered.

Do I need a kit to order wax?

Yes. Refills are wax only. The carving tools, needle file, sandpapers and return tin all come with the Jewelry Making Kit, and you need them to shape your wax and send it back.

Do I need a new tin each time?

Your wax travels back to us in the return tin, so each return uses one. If you have already sent yours, tick “Add a Refill Pack” above: it is a new tin and a fresh sandpaper set, with no wax.

Can I mix shapes in one order?

Yes. Add each shape you want to your bag. A couple of ring blanks and a circle for a matching pendant is a popular combination.

Is the casting included?

No. Casting is paid per piece when you return your wax, so you only pay for what you have actually made. Silver is the standard; gold and platinum are quoted by weight.

Which ring size should I choose?

Pick the size you will wear and your blank arrives ready to carve at that size. Between sizes? Go down: you can file the inside of the wax to make the ring bigger, but you can never make it smaller. A wide band wears tighter, so file a little more for a comfortable fit.
